My kids homework drop off station used to look like this...
They each had a drawer where they put papers from school.
Well, as you can see it got totally out of control.
Papers would fall back behind the drawer, landing in the cupboard below.
A LOT of rummaging was seen by kids and ME looking for assignments due.
Not cool.
We needed another solution.
So I came up with something that is neither super cute nor unique in any way...
I found some cheap hanging organizers at an office supply store (they were $5 each)
We hung them up by the kids desk area.
These will hold papers from school...
I will go through these bins when needed to see if any of it is urgent or important and just plain JUNK!
At least weekly, these bins will be cleaned out...important papers filed, junk thrown away, art projects displayed, etc.
The clipboards I did modpodge real quick to give it its own fun spin...see I CAN be crafty when I want to!!
The clipboards are for spelling words.
Each Monday they are to come home and immediately write out their spelling words 3 times each.
Then they hang their original spelling list on the clipboard where it should stay all week so they know where it is at all times
Oh I wish it would stay this empty and clean but this is just week 1!!
For now we hope this works for our 2 school aged boys.
What solutions have you found for homework/school papers storage??

That is such a good idea! I wish something like that would work for us.
What a GREAT idea! Everything is better when it is organized, isn't it =-) Thanks for linking up to TGIF. See you next week,
Beth =-)
I love ideas that help keep things neat and organized! It's not only easier to find everything but it helps kids (and adults) organize their thinking as well. Deb @ LivingMontessoriNow.com
