Freezer Meals

I have a group of friends and we get together once a month and make a bunch of meals to swap with each other so we can stock our freezers full!
It is a very easy way to stock your freezers with ready made meals for your family!

In our group we have 6 ladies...we meet once a month...we decided to meet the same day every month, so for instance every 23rd of the month we meet.  We all prepare by making 6 of a certain meal that day.  We coordinate ahead of time with what meals we are making to make sure everyone agrees on the meal.
We meet up usually at 5pm at one of our houses...kids all in tow.  Then the kids run wild and play together while us adults swap meals, munch on some goodies and chat away!
Then we go home with 6 ready made meals to heat up for our families!

My recipe this month:

Chicken Spaghetti
5 chicken breasts
1 tbsp chicken boullion
3 celery, chopped
1 small bell pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
½ lb Velveeta cheese
1 can cream of chicken or mushroom
1-16 oz pkg spaghetti

Cook chicken in 4 qt. pan, filled 3/4 full with water; add boullion. While chicken is cooking, chop veggies. After cooking for 15 minutes take chicken out of pan, add spaghetti to broth. When spaghetti is cooked, add chopped chicken, veggies, soup and cheese. Cook 10 minutes and pour into a casserole dish. Bake 25 minutes at 350.

What recipes do you like to make for freezer meals?

  2. This is a great idea. My friends and I once did this, but we each brought a different kind of soup. I LOVED having the meals on hand and getting new recipes.
After reading this post, I think I want to try to start up a group!

  3. This is just what our Relief Society president suggested last Sunday, for compassionate service, that we could freeze meals so that when the Comp. Service leader asks for help to feed a sick family at the last hour, you're ready to help out. :-D

  17. Fantastic idea. I used to do this with some ladies but as I was the organizer it fell to the way-side. Looks like I'll be needing to start this up again! (or do some batch cooking).
