The Snot Sucker...Baby Must Have!

Before I had my baby I spent a million hours searching the internet for baby items that I needed. I was obsessed with reading reviews of different products and finding out what products were necessary and not just for fun.
Well all those hours searching weren't a waste cause I found the most amazing product ever!
It's called the Nose Frida
The Snot Sucker!!!
Yes I know it sounds disgusting.
However, this thing works amazing!
I'm sure most of you have tried the blue bulb syringe and some might prefer it compared to this thing but I hate the bulb syringe. I feel like I have to do it a million times and I still don't know if I get it all. Not to mention my little man hated it.
So what makes this "snot sucker" so amazing you ask??
Well as you can see from this picture below my sister Tiff snuck last year of me using it on my son, you put one end to your mouth and the other in your babies nose and suck to your hearts content. No worries of anything coming in your mouth cause they designed it with little filters to stop it and to keep germs away. Seriously, it's not gross at all even though my husband still refuses to ever do it or watch;) And look at my son's happy face while I'm doing it!

They also designed it clear so you can see what comes out. Gross to some but I personally love it cause I like to see what I'm getting out.
And there is no wondering if you got it all out!
Let's face it our poor babies can't blow their own noses! So help them out. My son is 18 months now and I still suck him out every morning whether he has a runny nose or not just to make sure there isn't anything in his nose that could potentially get him sick.
Trust me after you use it your baby will thank you, by breathing better and being a happier baby.

If you're wondering where to get it, I haven't seen it in a store yet at least where I'm at but I just order mine from Target.com or amazon.com. They are around $15.

  3. What a great (if gross) idea! But better than sucking direct out of their nose (as my brother in law did to his kid! - effective but super gross)

Thanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a great week!

  4. SO glad to hear they work! I've seen them - but it makes me gag a bit even though I KNOW there's no way you get snot transfered :) - I ALSO know what lengths a mama will go to for her babies - and I HATE to see my baby sick!! Thanks for sharing!

  5. My little guy doesn't quite enjoy this thing as much as your little guy, but puts up the same amount of fight with both types. But the nose frida is so much faster, I always choose it. He has a little cold right now and it's been amazing. My husband is like yours he refuses to use it.

  7. I had to laugh at this one and go "ew" all at the same time. You see, as a early teen, I always thought that having something like that for myself would be wonderful when I had a cold. Glad someone has given more options to mothers. :)

  9. As a respiratory therapist, and mom to an 11 month-old... This is pretty great! I was blessed with the Graco Aspirator as a shower gift though, so I have never used this nifty tool! And I agree about the bulb syringe... They kind of suck {no pun intended}! :) Have a great weekend!

  11. That looks so disgusting. lol. My kids are older so I don't have to do that any more but if there had been that when they needed it I might have used it. Mom's do lots of gross things to make their babies feel better and even if the baby fights a bit (I had to sit on mine) they will feel much better in the end.
    Interesting post.
    Found you on TT&J

  12. visiting from I heart Naptime today. Thanks for sharing this! it does look nasty, but oh how effective! I'd use it! how much better does a sick baby feel when they can breathe!
And in response to the previous poster, to me it looks like the baby's legs are in the air, not under her body. regardless, babies don't usually understand that what you're doing to them is better for them, so you do what you gotta do to get your baby feeling better.

  13. i really can't find anything "disgusting" about an infant or young toddler! considering birth, spit up, diapers...
a congested baby can't sleep or suck to eat. whatever it takes to give them relief! I agree about the syringe, it doesnt pull out enough mucus per squeeze, so you have do it over and over! I wish I had one of these 2yrs ago!
