This recipe is a fan favorite...hands down!!
It can be made as a main dish or an appetizer.
And only 2 ingredients!!!
I received this recipe from my husbands aunt...Aunt Sid.
It was 9 years ago and I tasted it at a family bbq at her house and I was hooked!
When she told me the "secret ingredient" I was amazed!
Thanks Sid for the yummy recipe you passed on to me all those years ago!
And now I am passing it on to all of you!
Try it, you will be hooked!
Here is what you need...
A bag of chicken...any kind will do, my favorite to use is
boneless skinless chicken thighs
but you can really use whatever you prefer
*the original I tried was with wings but my husband hates to have to work to get his meat! =)
and
1 bottle of Dorothy Lynch dressing
*this dressing can sometimes be tricky to find...Albertson's does NOT carry it...Smith's does. And last time I checked I don't believe Walmart sold it either but it is worth a try.
Dump your chicken in a big pan...
A 9x13 pan is fine. I sometimes use my big roaster so I have plenty of room though.
Put it in oven set at 325 and cook for 1 hour...uncovered.
After an hour, take out pan and drain the majority of your liquid out.
Then add your bottle of dressing...
Cover all the chicken with the dressing..stir it around as you pour if you need to.
Put back in oven for another hour.
Take out and shred chicken to your liking (obviously if you do wings you do not need to do this step)
Serve and enjoy!
And as you can see, this meal was done with chicken tenders and there was no shredding involved. How easy is that!!
Now go enjoy and thank my Aunt Sid for this deliciousness!!

I am always up for a new chicken recipe. I love marinating chicken in Kraft's Sun Dried Tomato dressing and throwing it on the grill. Thanks for linking up with DIY under $5!
i always love when you bring these to family functions!
Perfect for those of us that live in Nebraska (where Dorothy Lynch originated)! You can find this at any grocery store. I'm trying this soon. :) Thanks for the recipe!
From another Nebraskan - you can find this dressing everywhere. It is a "staple" on our dinner table. Thanks for the EASY recipe!!
We found a love for this dressing since we moved to Nebraska too!! Thanks for the recipe. I didn't have the ingredients for the chicken recipes I was finding, so I searched for one with Dorothy Lynch. Haa Haa
Anyone ever tried skipping the first hour without dressing? I'm am using boneless breasts and think it would be easier to just cook in a crock pot or longer with the dressing? Interested to know....I'm gonna just wing it and try it in the crockpot today.
Really old fad recipe chicken breasts in 9 by 13. Small bottle dor lynch poured over 1 can drained sauerkraut spread over chicken. Slices swiss cheese laid over. Bake. Uncovered 350 45 minutes. Sounds crazy is delicious
