PB&J Roll-Ups

With the start of school and fall sports
I have found myself a busy mama!!
One kid in football,
one in karate,
one in cheerleading,
two in all day school,
one in preschool,
three in playgroup.
Whew.
Some days are busier than others.
Wednesdays.
Between school and all the sports AND my church calling,
we have NO time to sit down at the table and eat a family meal together!
So Wednesdays we eat dinner-on-the-go.
And no, I do not mean fast food.
I mean this...

Yep, I pack to-go dinners
*and yes, my kids reminded me that they are basically just lunches but for the sake of the time of day I call them DINNER!  =)

I try to come up with clever items to pack instead of the standard stuff.
I came across this idea in a parenting magazine awhile ago and ripped it out for future reference.
Here is my attempt at the
PB&J Roll-Up

First cut all the crusts off your bread

Then use a rolling pin to flatten out your bread

Now it is time to spread the peanut butter
and the jelly of course!

Now give it a ROLL

Then slice it up...

Not the best picture, but you get the idea right!

We also like to do tortilla roll-ups...
we spread cream cheese on the tortilla
then add sliced turkey
and sprinkle some shredded cheese.
Roll it up and then cut in half
and close it shut with a toothpick!

What other fun and unique ideas do you have for lunches...ahem I mean dinners??  =)

Love this! Thank you. Now, I would love to know what you packed IN those four boxes up there. Sadly, lunch is a tough one for me to pack each day and I need help in ways to make it healthy and fun!

Oh believe me, I could use some help in the creativity department of packing lunches too...I think this day we did Bugles, raisins, strawberries, string cheese and a pack of cookies. Nothing fancy! =)

Where did you get those cool Ziplock boxes? I've never seen those with the sections in them. With 6 lunches to pack every day we need those!

That is such a cute idea! I am always looking for cute ways to do lunches. I am sure the kiddos will think these are something really cool! Thanks for sharing this!
